What are Leader scenery frames?
Leader frames present local countryside development activities by highlighting, with the help of the frames, Leader locations in the area. The focus is on the countryside, village activity and beautiful sceneries.
Together, the frame locations form a route that introduces travelers to an interesting entity of countryside destinations and presents activities in the villages. The information boards by the frames present the destination and take you via QR code to a website, where you can explore the frame route and the services nearby in more detail. The partners in the project are the Estonian National Geographic frames route and the Estonian Leader groups that made the route possible. The area of Finland’s Leader scenery frames is also featured in the Estonian National Geographic magazine and on the website www.visitsouthestonia.com.
Leader frames are mounted in 2019–2022 in amazing Leader locations in Imatra, Parikkala, Rautjärvi and Ruokolahti in South Carelia as well as in Kotka, Hamina, Miehikkälä, Pyhtää and Virolahti in Kymenlaakso (Kymi Valley).
The main coordinator and partner in the project is Leader Sepra, located in Southern Kymenlaakso (Kymi Valley).
